Oliver has a BSc in Neuroscience from King’s College London and an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from UCL. His BSc dissertation focused on neuroimaging and chronic pain, particularly on the roles of default mode network and salience network in chronic back pain. His MSc work, supervised by Professor Sam Gilbert, focused on behavioural differences in implicit and explicit cognitive offloading.

Oliver joined Katlab in 2023 as a PhD student. His current PhD work focuses on the human sense of object reality – namely, what are the properties of objects and our actions towards objects which conveys a sense of ‘realness’ about our environments. In other words, how do we know an object is real? He investigates these phenomena using VR and virtual haptic technology. This work is funded by Ultraleap in collaboration with UCL Computer Science.
