Antje Gentsch studied Psychology at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany, and did her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany. She completed a doctoral program in philosophy and neuroscience at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, funded by the German Excellence Initiative.
Antje investigates the relation between action, perception and self-awareness, within the framework of embodied cognition. She has explored the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying the sense of agency and its disturbances in neuropsychiatric disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder. Her research at KatLab focuses on interoceptive awareness, mostly in healthy participants and psychiatric populations.
